Trabajo y Tradición

A celebration of the historic and internationally popular sport of Working Equitation, with demonstrations and clinics with the world's leading Working Equitation athletes. Open to all Iberian breeds.

Trabajo y Tradición

Back by popular demand!

After becoming one of the most loved and highly attended experiences of IBERICON 2025, Trabajo y Tradición returns this October with an exceptional Working Equitation experience led by two of the discipline’s most respected professionals in Spain: international competitor and trainer José Antonio Olea and Judge José Andrés Benito.

Working Equitation was born in the mid-1990s, when Italy, France, Portugal and Spain;countries with a long tradition of using horses for working cattle in the field; came together to create a discipline that would bring this traditional work into the competition arena.

The challenge was to bring together the different traditions, customs and techniques of these countries under a common set of rules and a unified judging system. The result is today’s Working Equitation, a discipline that combines Dressage, Obstacles, Speed and traditional horsemanship in one dynamic and demanding sport.

Two experts. Two perspectives. One unique learning experience.

The IBERICON 2026 clinic will offer riders something rarely available in a single experience: the opportunity to understand Working Equitation from both the training and judging perspectives.

Participants will work in small groups with José Andrés Benito, focusing on the judge’s point of view—what judges look for, how exercises are evaluated and what details can make a difference in competition.

They will then work with José Antonio Olea, applying those observations to the training of the horse and rider.
