From Preparation to Presentation in the Morphology Circuit: A Clinic with Diego González
From Preparation to Presentation in the Morphology Circuit: A Clinic with Diego González
IBERICON 2026 will welcome one of Spain’s most accomplished professional P.R.E. handlers, Diego González López, for a special clinic dedicated to technique, and preparation behind a successful morphology performance.
In the morphology ring, the horse is undoubtedly the star, but the handler plays a key role in the presentation. Preparation, timing, sensitivity, and the connection between horse and handler can make a significant difference when a champion enters the arena.
Diego has built an outstanding reputation within the P.R.E. world. He enjoyed three consecutive undefeated years at SICAB, achieving major victories with horses including Ítalo de la Vega, Atlántico de Vida, and Oria de Vida all of them associated with World Championship titles in SICAB. More recently, in 2025, Diego once again claimed victory at SICAB with Quesoro JB, adding another major title to an already remarkable record in the P.R.E. morphology ring.
His experience extends beyond morphology. In dressage, Diego won the bronze medal at the 2021 ANCCE Dressage Cup Final with Zeo de Pena, while in 2024 he achieved a remarkable double victory with Lisonjero de Vida, becoming champion in both Morphology and Dressage. He has also represented the P.R.E. at the World Championships of Young Horses in 2025 and 2026.
At IBERICON, Diego will combine theory and practical demonstration, offering participants an inside look at the fundamentals of morphology competitions, how to prepare a horse for the ring, presentation techniques, positioning, and the importance of showcasing the horse’s natural qualities and movement.
- DAY1: Conformation Explanation & Q&A
- DAY 2: Movements Explanation & Q&A
The session will also emphasize on the gaits and how the handler can work with the horse to enhance its presence, expression, balance, and overall presentation.
Join Diego González at IBERICON 2026 and discover what it takes to prepare, present, and showcase a P.R.E. horse in the morphology ring. Free attendance — no registration required.
