IBERICON 2026: The Premier Celebration of the Iberian Horse in America Returns to Ocala

From October 14–18, the World Equestrian Center in Ocala will once again become the epicenter of the Iberian horse in the United States, with a comprehensive program bringing together competition, education, training, culture, entertainment, and breed promotion.

In Europe, when it comes to the horses of the Iberian Peninsula, that is, the PRE and Lusitano breeds, there are two major events that stand out: SICAB and Golegã, two November gatherings that attract thousands of people who share a passion for the baroque horse. Across the Atlantic, the month of October now has its own signature event: IBERICON. In just a few editions, this major gathering has established itself as the leading showcase for the Iberian horse in the United States.

A Program Packed with Activities

IBERICON brings together a comprehensive program designed to showcase the Iberian horse across its many disciplines, traditions, and facets.

Competition will take center stage with the Iberian Cup, an FEI-level dressage competition exclusively for Lusitano and PRE Horses, and Fiesta Ocala, the P.R.E. Conformation Competition, which this year has received ANCCE’s highest three-star classification.

Working Equitation will be represented through Trabajo y Tradición, offering a two day clinic plus additional educational opportunities led by internationally recognized professionals, several of whom are just returning from the World Championships.

The educational program will also play a major role through IBERICON Academy, a platform for seminars, masterclasses, and presentations with top professionals from across the equestrian, sport and artistic performance industries.

The program is complemented by Iberian Horse Spectacular, one of the event’s major entertainment highlights; Ibericon Marketplace, bringing together a strong commercial presence; and USPRE Week, which provides an important platform for the promotion, visibility, and development of the P.R.E. horse in the United States.

Leading Names from the Equestrian World

One of the major attractions of this year’s edition will be the presence of renowned figures from the world of horses.

Among them is Carlos Bohórquez, President of ANCCE, whose participation further reinforces IBERICON’s international character and its role as a meeting point between the United States and Spain.

The educational program will also feature highly respected professionals, including Juan Carlos Campos, FEI 4 judge*, and José Andrés Benito, international Working Equitation judge.

The list of participants also includes prominent riders and professionals, among them Olympic riders Juan Manuel Muñoz and José Daniel Martín Dockx, as well as renowned Spanish breeder Rafael Peralta Revuelta.

Iberian Horse Spectacular: History, Emotion, and the Horse

The evening program will once again feature Iberian Horse Spectacular, under the direction of Tina Veder, one of IBERICON’s major highlights. This year’s production joins the celebrations of the 250th Anniversary of the United States under the theme: “Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary through the power, beauty, and legacy of the horse.” A celebration of horsemanship, music, storytelling, pageantry, and heritage, with magnificent Iberian horses at the heart of the experience.Tickets are already available through the official website.

Social Events

No horse event is complete without a party! IBERICON itself is a daily meeting place for Iberian horse lovers, with a new Food Court in the main Arena 5 next to the show ring, and an upgraded VIP experience ringside. Additionally there are now two chances to socialize and dance the night away with fellow equestrians—the Thursday night formal Gala at Golden Ocala Country Club AND the Saturday night Spectacular After-Party featuring one of Spain’s hottest Flamenco-Latin-Fusion bands, which is open and free to the public.
